Kayla – Turn Around

child prodigy

Q1 – still affirms the literacy equals success

Q2- I revived pretty good grades on my writing assignments

E- mainly that the text makes it clear that a Prodigy needs to have a grasp of literacy at a younger time.  Kayla understands this as she makes it clear that she was literate and even excels at reading in her younger ages

Sam – Passion

Success

Q1 – combine, broad abstract claims about literacy

Q2 – with anything in life that is meaningful to you, you have got to love it no mater what.

E – Success narratives needs to have an abstract perspective on Literacy and Sam makes it clear in his text. Sam explains an abstract concept that even through one loves something one dose not have to love every part of it making the idea behind it abstract to the reader. In turn the text illustrates a Narrative success through Sams ideas on how loving literacy also means heating some parts of it.

Hannah – unexpected

Rebel

Q1 – they do not fit into the literacy community

Q2 – I looked at my paper and saw B-

E- Hannah makes it clear that she did not feel a part of the literacy community any more as her idea of a power full essay was shattered causing her to rethink literacy in her perspective in the community. This illustrates a part of the rebel Narrative as it makes Hannah a feel her own identity not in the community of literacy making her self a part of the rebel narrative

Blake – Recess

Rebel

Q1 – they do not fit into the literacy community

Q2 –  I was missing something

E – Blake felt out of the literacy community as her teacher would say, “I was missing something, ” making Blake feel like she had missed something impotent that every one else had already had in the text Blake was working on.  Literacy rebel narratives need to make the character feel like they are out of the literacy community and for Blake this was well places as she did not feel like the others felt as she is, “missing something.”
